Managing Editor
Job Description:
Working closely with the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief, the successful
candidate will responsible for setting and evolving the editorial direction
of magazines, developing story and visual and interactive ideas, overseeing
marketing of the magazine, writing and editing submissions, setting and
overseeing the editorial schedule, managing the budget, and developing the
skills of editors and writers.
Job Specification:
- Research, write, and edit articles
- Editorial Planning
- Plan production schedules and manage budgets in an effective way
- Liaise with various stakeholders in the publishing process including the writers; sales personnel; designers and stringers
- An undergraduate or master degree in journalism, English language or other relevant disciplines.
- A minimum 5 years full-time experience in a Senior Editor or Managing Editor position.
- Knowledge of customs publishing is preferred.
- Strong interest and/or experience in the medical, dental and pharmaceutical industry
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong leadership skills and able to work with tight deadlines
- Good analytical skills and a keen eye on details
Sub Editor
Working closely with the Managing Editor the successful candidate must be equipped with the following qualities:
Job Specification:
- Sub-edit and proofread articles
- News gathering, writing and subbing of copy
- Create, edit or polish advertisement copies, internal and external newsletters, business proposals, and marketing collateral
- A degree in Journalism, English Language, or related disciplines
- A minimum of two years of work experience in editing, sub-editing or copywriting
- Team player with high degree of self-motivation, attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Experienced in sub-editing articles produced by non-native speakers of the English Language
